As the Official Intimate Wellness Partner of the 2024 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Durex sought a bold, dynamic way to celebrate love, pride, and inclusion with the LGBTQIA+ community. The activation needed to be visually striking, socially shareable, and resonate with a vibrant, high-energy crowd.

The Solution

Enter Glam_droid—Australia’s latest innovation in creative event photography and robotics. Inspired by Hollywood’s iconic glambot moments, this robotic camera arm made its Sydney debut at Bondi Beach, becoming the centerpiece of Durex’s brand activation.

Partnering with Durex, Polite Playground delivered an unforgettable experiential marketing moment that fused high-speed robotics with super slow-motion video capture. Over the course of ten hours, Glam_droid created hundreds of dynamic videos, each a unique, high-impact photo moment.

What’s the first thing #millennials do after getting a fresh new hairstyle?! Whether it’s just a cut or a full-on colour transformation –  it didn’t happen if it’s not on social media. After students had their hair professionally dyed, they headed over to our PIXTA Pod ‘Selfie Station’ to capture the perfect shot.

After students snapped their ‘before and after’ shots, they were able to instantly send their content to themselves using our social sharing software.
