When Virgin Australia and Delta Airlines wanted to showcase their partnership at TEDx Sydney 2019, they needed an activation that would entertain, engage and spread their message both onsite and online. Our solution? A bespoke set design paired with green screen cinemagraphs that highlighted the airlines’ joint expansion into North America.

The Brief.

The activation needed to:

  • Celebrate the Virgin Australia x Delta Airlines partnership

  • Deliver an interactive guest experience onsite

  • Create shareable content that would amplify the collaboration beyond TEDx

How We Did It.

We created a Virgin Australia-themed business lounge experience, complete with:

  • A custom-designed set where guests could relax, recharge, and enjoy hospitality

  • Branded green screen cinemagraphs, transporting participants into dynamic travel-inspired scenes

  • A custom-printed boarding pass, handed out by Virgin Australia flight attendants, featuring exclusive redemption offers

This blend of immersive physical design and digital interactivity ensured guests were entertained while also generating branded social content.

The activation delivered:

  • Strong onsite engagement from TEDx attendees

  • High volumes of user-generated social content

  • A memorable showcase of the airlines’ partnership, ensuring the message of “linking wings” reached far beyond the event

By combining hospitality, creativity and interactivity, Virgin Australia and Delta Airlines stood out at TEDx with an activation that was both meaningful and highly shareable.
