Quest Hotels (Ascott Limited)

Quest Hotels Custom Activation at Melbourne International Student Week 2024.

When the team at Quest Hotels Australia needed a captivating and budget-friendly solution to fake an upside down room in the middle of Fed Square for Melbourne International Student Week, our team swiftly embraced the challenge, embarking on a mission to create a fantastic activation across two event days.

While the concept of ‘Upside Down’ rooms are nothing new in the world of experiential marketing, they do remain highly interactive, generating a thirst for content-sharing on social platforms. Typically, they do demand substantial budgets, often involving drilling, painting, and all sorts of logistical complexities which can be very difficult to execute within short timeframes.

However the team at Polite Playground presented a more cost-effective alternative for Quest Hotels by leveraging our proficiency in creatively integrating digital greenscreen technology without having to drill any beds onto ceilings (phew).

Executing digital greenscreen integrations are our forte, and our skilled in-house design team crafted five bespoke greenscreen backgrounds from scratch, meticulously mimicking real-life Quest property rooms. These digital backgrounds seamlessly integrated with Quest assets and were featured in a custom DSLR photo booth spanning a 4m x 6m activation in the heart of Federation Square.

Attendees at Melbourne International Student Week could magically transform themselves into various iconic Quest room settings, all from the luxurious comfort of a plush queen-size Sealy bed (yes, literally).

The activation a step further, our seamless digital software introduced a personalised touch by incorporating a customisable data capture for each participant via QR registration. This not only enhanced user engagement but offered event attendees a chance to win one of three enticing local experience packages at Quest.

With the integration of our clients' competition, over the course of two event days,we saw more than 200 photos captured, featuring not only enthusiastic participants but also some endearing furry friends.

Our team's involvement in Melbourne International Student Week with Ascott Limited as the official Principal Partner, provided event attendees with a unique and entertaining experience to have their #QuestBedHead photos captured for the chance to win one of three local experience packages.

Our team expressed gratitude to everyone who participated and we can’t wait for future opportunities with our valued clients at Ascott Australia, to turn unique concepts into memorable and engaging experiences.
